Depending on the way you look at, remembering to bolus for breakfast, or forgetting to bolus is something I often do, and hate the consequence. Being thirsty and wanting to drink all the water in sight. Yes, I forgot to bolus for breakfast. This morning, when I ate breakfast, and tested prior to going out to the kitchen, my blood sugar tested at 153. When I remembered to test and it had been alarming for an hour before that, I was 495. When my blood sugar is that high, I don’t feel hungry; Which is a good thing, considering I shouldn’t eat at that blood sugar). After bolusing 2 extra units than my insulin pump calculated, (7.5 units in total) I gradually came down to 305, and then 96, and finally 74.495 to 74. Four hours.
Water, oh water. How I love you, water.
Blood Sugar, how I honestly regret forgetting to take insulin.
Remind me not to do that again brain, please?
