MJ2 honored by CNN/HLN as Breakthrough Women

We just want to follow up on the special segment filmed by CNN/HLN honoring MJ2 (aka…Mollie and Jackie and Mollie and Jackie) as, “Breakthrough Women!”

As some of you know, CNN recently filmed MJ2 for HLN’s series, ‘Breakthrough Women,’ which will air for four days this week, beginning Thursday October 13th, through Sunday, October 16th, exclusively on HLN’s Morning Express with Robin Meade. This segment will can also be seen on the Internet at: http://mxp.blogs.cnn.com/category/breakthrough-women/ and on MJ2’s website, www.mj2twins.com.

CNN is recognizing MJ2 for their advocacy and fundraising efforts on behalf of diabetes research, as well as, for their music, in particular MJ2 ‘s Celebrity Single, “You Can’t Say Love Enough” featuring Dolly Parton, Lee Greenwood, Wayne Newton and many more artists. This song is currently available on iTunes and all of the net proceeds, from the sale of the Celebrity Single, are being donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, on behalf of MJ2’s organization the Diabetic Angels and MJ2’s producer, Dennis Money and his record label Sweetsong Nashville.

This segment, although short, is a powerful tribute to MJ2 for their contributions to the diabetes community and the music industry.

D-Blogger Meet-Ups Rock!

Last month, there was a conference in town for bloggers called BlogWorld. Jackie and I saw lots of tweets from diabetic bloggers about being here in Las Vegas and thought it would great to see Kerri again (we met up with her in New York in 2008) and meet everyone while we were all in the same town!

(I would link to my blog posts about meeting Kerri and Allison in New York right now, but since my blog was deleted, I was never able to recover some of the posts. :( very sad.) But I have a blog about meeting Gina Capone last year while she was here in Las Vegas! yay! :)

Any way, it is SO nice to meet and talk to people in the diabetic online community like Kerri, Scott, George, Elizabeth from Diabetes Daily, Amy from DiabetesMine, Christopher from Diabetic Rockstar, Jenni, Alexis, Gina, and Allison!

It was amazing meeting all of you in person and getting to know everyone more. Geroge’s laugh is so contagious, it was SO cool that he drove all the way from California to hang out that weekend with everyone. :)

Thank you Kerri for the pictures from your amazingly awesome camera! :)

Me, Scott, Kerri, Jenni, and Jackie!

G-Money Bullet PointWhen I was in Vegas for Blog World last month, I had the chance to meet up with Mollie & Jackie Singer (founders of Diabetic Angels).  I had the pleasure of hanging out with them (and Kerri and Jenni) for the evening.  We talked about all of the great things they are up to, and I’d like to encourage you to keep an eye on these two.  They are great gals and are working on some big things.  Take a look at this cool music video for their song “Can’t Say Love Enough” (iTunes link).

Reblogged from A “Ninja Point” List on Scott’s Diabetes Journal.

We also met Alexis, (Sugar_Nova on Twitter) and her son, Justice and their family on November 6th, the same day as our JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes in Las Vegas. They won best T-shirt and cut the ribbon we helped tie since we were 2 hours early! :) That was a fun day, and it was really nice to meet Alexis and her awesome family. :)

P.S. My mom thought the title was “Meet- U  P  S”  :) (like the store) haha. oh my gosh.  She never ceases to amaze me. I love you mom!
