Late Spring Cleaning
So this weekend, my mom, sister and I pretty much organized the kitchen book shelf….along with what we’ve always called “The Diabetic Desk.”I used to write binders full of diabetic logs…and keep all my supplies, kleenex packs, lancets, strips, everything!
We found my original tester i used to used with the case i wrote all over with gel pens. haha..its huge! and the strips are like gigantic…it was so fun to see all that stuff and realize how far diabetes technology has come…
For example, my tester since i was diagnosed used to take 45 seconds until i knew what my number was, to 5 seconds with a light on the screen….amazing! :]
Cool, huh?

Just imagine Mollie, what the technology will be like 10 years from now…………
If there is not going to be a “cure,” then a system that will automatically provide the correct amount of insulin based on the glusose level within the blood.
If destruction of beta cells came to be because of OUR Immune System Response, them implanting “new” beta cells will not solve the problem, but re-create something that has already happened. To be on Immunosuppressive Treatment is both harmful and risky for the body.
New modalities await…………
